Barnes & Noble

Web Design & Digital In-Store signage for the bookselling behemoth B&N

ABOUT

Barnes & Noble came to IBM iX to help modernize their website to help stand out from their biggest competitor Amazon. They were simultaneously in the middle of a brand refresh so a lot of balls were in the air at once. We worked very closely with their in-house team to create a site that felt like you were in one of their stores, placing all of the digital products on “shelves” with a line beneath them as well as showing the book covers with some depth and a dramatic shadow on PDP pages.

Not only that, but we were responsible for in-store motion graphics that promoted new & noteworthy books. I would direct each graphic by starting with a storyboard and collaborate with our motion team to deliver something eye-catching to the client.
